Navigating the desert can be disorienting due to the thick sandstorm that disrupts your standard mini-map display. To counter this effect, you should pin the visible structure on your main map before leaping into the storm. Maintaining a straight path toward the horizon will ensure you reach the first checkpoint without losing your bearings.
Locating and Activating the First Red Pillar
Upon arriving at the first destination, you will notice that the stone structure is completely sealed at its base. You need to ascend to the top of the platform using climbing gear or auxiliary Zonai devices scattered nearby. Once you reach the peak, look for a cracked floor section that can be destroyed with an explosive weapon or a hammer tool.
Smashing the cracked floor reveals a hidden light beam that shoots directly upward into a reflective mirror. This mirror automatically projects a powerful beam of light out into the deep desert wilderness. Your next task is to jump off the tower and follow the direction of this newly generated beam to locate the second structure.
Aligning the Second and Third Light Beams
Following the first light trail leads you directly to the second red tower, which requires a slightly different method to activate. Instead of breaking the floor, you must locate a nearby interactive wheel mechanism that rotates the top mirror assembly. Turning this wheel shifts the angle of the reflection until the beam connects perfectly with a third distant structure.
The final pillar requires a bit of vertical exploration because the adjustment mechanism is broken and lacks a handle. You must use your Ultrahand ability to attach a nearby wooden stick or stone slab to the lever axle.
